heaven and hell
Where is Hell?
Hell is the separation from God and for all time. Various theories on the location of hell have been put
forward. According to a traditional view, Hell is at the center of the
earth while other manuscript states that hell is located in the outer
space in the black hole. According to Old Testament, the word “hell” is
translated as Sheol and in New Testament, Gehenna means Valley of Hinnom
and Hades means unseen. Sheol and Hades refer as the temporary abode to
dead before the judgment and Sheol has been translated as “pit” and
“grave.” God is light of the world and in the absence of God, darkness
prevails. Hell is more than mental state of mind so it is considered as a
place of the darkness. Jesus said that hell will be a place filled with
the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth in that
place. When in the absence of God there would not be light and weeping
and tears that regret eternity when you do not believe in Jesus.
Jesus spoke about Hell as a place where
no one could escape from and heaven was real just as rich man knew what
the hell was literal place in the story of Lazarus and the Rich Man.
Main idea that the hell is below us is that it is at the center of the
earth according to Luke 10:15. The medium of Endor sees the spirit of
Samuel “coming up out of the ground” in 1 Samuel 28:13-15. This passage
is mainly concerned with the geographic location of the hell. However,
the medium’s vision of Samuel was just a vision. It is a place of
unending torment and even rich man could not return to warn their
family.
